I made a better for you ranch dressing mix so I could make my own low carb ranch dressing and this recipe given to me by a friend. It is a delicious dip for veggies, protein chips, shrimp or chicken!

Making your own ranch seasoning packet mix is super simple the only specialty ingredients are heavy cream powder (in place of buttermilk powder) and xanthan gum, which is in a regular packet mix along with guar gum. The rest is just seasoning and my spice blend is perfect to use in the applications mentioned above. If making dressing the seasonings are really to taste for whatever ranch dressing you prefer like garlic ranch, peppercorn ranch or even can make a parmesan ranch by just adding some different ingredients when making your batch of dressing.
Heavy Cream Powder I buy cause it's cheaper per ounce but any brand will do- https://amzn.to/3YXZV44
Anthony's Xanthan Gum (most xanthan gums have different gelling power)- https://amzn.to/44rhPjz

Ranch Seasoning Mix (can cut in half)
4oz./1 Cup Heavy Cream Powder
2 Tbs. Granulated Onion
2 Tbs. Granulated Garlic
1 Tbs. + 1/2 tsp. Dried Dill
2 +1/2 tsp. Redman's Real Salt (I find it less salty than most so if using something different you may want to start with less)
2 tsp. Black Pepper
1/2 Tbs. Parsley (optional)
1 Tbs. Dried Chive (optional) Can also just add fresh when making dressing
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in a container and mix well, store in an airtight container in cupboard or other cool, dry place
Use about 4 Tbs. or 1 oz. to make a batch of dressing like on the back of a regular ranch packet, recipe makes about 6oz.

To make the jalapeno ranch dip you just need to make your own low carb buttermilk. I just use a little heavy cream, vinegar and water. Then the better ranch seasoning that doesn't contain maltodextrin, MSG or buttermilk powder which contribute to added carbs that don't get counted because the back of the hidden valley ranch packet counts 0 carbs per serving because the serving is only 1/4 tsp. which is only a gram and a half, so everything is 0.
The other ingredients that may not be staples in the fridge are a green salsa and jarred jalapenos. Both can be found easily at Walmart. Just be sure the ingredients are decent. The salsa verde I bought was hernadez brand and the jalapenos I just would make sure you don't get tamed because you may need to add extra to get any flavor which would add extra carbs. I did that and needed to use twice as much to get any pepper flavor.
Jalapeno Ranch Dip
1/3 Cup/2.6oz. Avocado Oil Mayo
1 Cup/8oz. Sour Cream
1/3 Cup/2.6oz. Homemade Low Carb Buttermilk-1 Tbs. Heavy Cream+1 tsp. Distilled or Apple Cider Vinegar, filled the rest with water
1 oz./about 4 Tbs. Dry Ranch Mix
1/3 Cup/2.6 oz. Green Salsa
1/3 Cup/about 1.7 oz. Jarred Jalapenos (to taste, will determine the spiciness of the dip)
4 Drops Liquid Stevia or other low carb sweetener (optional, to taste)
Salt to taste
Instructions:
Measure out the mayo into a blender or food processor (can also use a container big enough for a hand emersion blender)
Make the buttermilk and add the the blender then add the sour cream
Add the dry ranch mix, then the salsa and jalapenos then blend until mostly smooth
Scrap down and blend until completely smooth, taste and add sweetener if using, salt if needed
Place into a sealed container and chill for a few hours before serving so the flavors can develop and it will thicken
